Squab Daventry supports local motorcycling talent in his quest to dominate the track!
Squab is excited to sponsor local motorcycling talent, Will Harper, for his current season in the Thundersport GP1 Elite Series.
Based locally to Daventry, Will is using Squab’s Daventry site to safely store some of his racing equipment during the season, as part of the sponsorship and support package provided.
Born and bred in Northamptonshire, Will has risen quickly through the ranks of motorcycle racing, having only acquired his road licence in 2010. Two years later, he ventured onto his first track day, highlighting Will’s determination and ability to make the very best of his racing talent in a surprisingly short period of time.
For Will, 2013 was a year of intensive training, attending many track days with the goal of entering the world of racing the following year. The hard work paid off and Will’s ambition was achieved in 2014, when he started his racing career by competing in the No Limits Pre-Injection Championship, a series he was to go on and win the following year in only his second season of competitive racing.
In 2016, Will switched to the fiercely competitive Thundersport pre-national 600 series, managing consistently high placings. A year on and he was a serious contender for the championship, finishing fifth despite having to miss two meetings due to injury.
Taking the plunge into the litre class in 2018, Will raced in the Thundersport GP1 Sportsman Elite series where he shone as a newcomer to the class, finishing 2nd overall in the Sportsman field, regularly beating those in the Elite class at every meeting.
When asked about his ambitions for this season, Will said, “My aspirations are to finish in the top 10 of the Thundersport GB GP1 elite championship, improving on my 2018 performance at all circuits.” Commenting on Squab’s support, he said, “It is great to have Squab storage on board and supporting my 2019 season. I am really excited to get out on the track and bring in some positive results. Squab has some great secure storage options for almost anything, including motorcycles, and they have kept my race bike safe and warm throughout the off season – 100% guys!”
Squab’s director, Alex Henney, commented, “We are delighted to be sponsoring Will and wish him great success in the coming season. He is a dedicated and competitive local talent who we are extremely proud to support in his quest for a top 10 finish. We are very confident he will achieve this!”
