Last month, we shared the news that Squab Daventry had been shortlisted as a finalist in the SSA (Self Storage Association) UK Awards, an event created to highlight and celebrate the best of the self-storage industry. Exciting stuff!
We’re back from the awards, which took place in London on Thursday 6th September, and we’re chuffed to say we achieved a top four finish in the fiercely contested category of ‘UK Independent Operator of the Year’.
It was the first year Squab Daventry had entered the awards, so it’s a big achievement to have made it to the final, especially given “there were lots of entries this year, and as always, a very high standard too” as reported by the SSA UK.
It’s thanks to our customers and dedicated team, so a big ‘thank you’ to everyone involved in bringing recognition to our wonderful, orange storage facilities. Daventry, the second of Squab’s sites, launched in July 2015, and provides high-quality storage options to businesses and residents in and around Northamptonshire.
A big congratulations to our fellow finalists and an even bigger congratulations to the winners of the ‘Independent’ category, Inner Space Stations Self Storage. As a result, they’ve been entered into the FEDESSA (European) Awards, part of the conference taking place in Paris from 26th – 28th September, alongside:
- UK Manager of the Year Award – Angela Lawtey, Store More Self Storage
- UK Large Operator Facility of the Year Award – Shurgard Self-Storage, Chingford
- UK Container Facility of the Year – The Avonmouth Space Program
We’re looking forward to Paris – in fact, Peter Clarke, manager of Squab Daventry, is cycling all the way there to raise money for our Charity of the Year – The Myton Hospices. Find out more about Peter’s bike ride and how you can support him.
In the meantime, we’re sure you’ll join us in saying ‘Bon chance, Peter!’
